Content optimization covers the time spent improving existing content on your site to ensure that it continues to perform optimally. All content benefits from regular optimization, regardless of the state it was in when it was originally published.

Content optimization efforts include:

  • Edits for spelling and grammar
  • Revisions for readability
  • SEO optimization, such as adding meta titles and descriptions, image alt tags and captions, headings, internal links and keywords
  • Fixing broken links and media
  • Updates to outdated statistics or dates

Content optimization efforts are typically performed directly within the back end of your site, without client review prior to publishing. In this case, the process is as follows:

  1. We prioritize pieces to optimize based on underperformance or quality concerns.
  2. We perform optimizations directly in the back end of your site.
  3. Your account manager will provide monthly reports showing our progress.

However, if you prefer to review changes before they’re made live, we can work in Google Docs rather than directly on the site. In this case, the process is as follows:

  1. We prioritize pieces to optimize based on underperformance or quality concerns.
  2. We make edits to content in a Google Doc.
  3. We send you the updated content to review and approve before making the changes live on your site.
  • This service only covers content optimization work as described in the scope of work section of this agreement.
  • The work that our content team member performs is limited to the amount of hours you purchased.
  • Because different content pieces require different amounts of work to optimize, we cannot guarantee the completion of a specific number of pieces within your allocated time.
  • This service does not by itself guarantee improved rankings in Google or other search engines and must be paired with other services for maximum effectiveness.
  • Content optimization efforts are typically performed directly within the back end of your site, without client review prior to publishing.
  • Do you have any internal style or messaging guides we should adhere to? If not, we will default to AP Style.
  • Would you like to review optimization updates before they are made live?
  • If we are making edits directly on the site, make sure we have access to their back end.
