Website Development Project
The scope of work for one-time development projects will be customized for each project. The proposal should include a detailed description of the work that will be completed, as well as any third-party tools or services required, for the proposed project.
- To begin the project, we will either send a kick-off email or request a kick-off meeting to confirm next steps and request any additional information that we may require from the client before editing the website.
- If you will be providing any content, media, and/or other information for the website updates, please send these over to your project manager at the start of the project. Development work will typically not begin until we have received any needed content, or other required assets, for the request.
- The project will follow the timeline laid out in the proposal. Delays in receiving any necessary information, reviews, or approvals from the client may extend the proposed timeline.
- If a project will require additional paid tools to complete, the developer will provide a list of tools needed and instructions for purchase.
- Depending on the complexity of the project, we may make the edits directly on the live website, or we may test and review the edits on a staging site first. If you have a preference for us to complete the edits on a staging site first, please request this at the beginning of the project.
- If additional revisions were included as part of the project scope, your project manager will reach out to provide the first draft of the website updates, along with a link to our online feedback tool.
- Once the website edits are complete, your project manager will provide you with a final notice of completion for the project.
- The Website Development Project service is only available for edits to websites built in the WordPress Content Management System. Any edits to websites built on other platforms must be pre-approved by Marketeering Group and included in the above scope.
- Some edits may require the purchase of additional third-party plugins, tools, or services. If this is the case, it is the client’s responsibility to purchase the needed tools, as well as any future required renewals. The developer will provide the client with a list of the tools and instructions for purchase. The client must then provide Marketeering Group with access to the third-party account, or any necessary files, embeds or licenses for the tool.
- This service covers only the edits listed in the above scope of work. If the client has any additional, out-of-scope requests during the project, we will provide a separate quote for the additional work. We will not move forward with the additional work until the new quote is approved.
- The Website Development Project service does not include creative direction or consulting. These services are available through our Website Optimization Retainer or our marketing strategy and consulting services.
- This service does not include the creation of content or media sourcing for the website. The client may provide any needed content, or Marketeering Group can assist with this through our content creation and/or media sourcing services. Development work will not begin until any necessary content is received, unless otherwise approved by Marketeering Group.
- If the website’s WordPress version, theme, and/or plugins are not currently up-to-date, we may need to perform a full update before completing the website edits. If this work cannot be completed within scope, we will provide an additional quote for the work, along with an explanation of the requirements. If any paid tools do not have an active license, the client will need to provide or purchase a license for the tool(s) in order for us to perform the updates.
- In rare cases, the set-up of the website’s hosting environment may limit our ability to perform certain updates. If this is the case, we will provide you with an explanation of the issue and an alternate recommendation.
- We will typically need full WordPress admin access and full hosting account access in order to provide this service. If either of these is not available, our ability to edit the site will be limited, and Marketeering Group will need to complete an assessment of the available access and provide additional approval before moving forward with the project.
