Developer Access Pass
Trying to fix website issues solo is often time consuming and frustrating. That’s doubly true if you’re not a particularly tech-savvy person. Our developers quickly identify the root cause of a problem and remedy it, taking time and effort off your hands. As a result, you have 24/7 reassurance and focus on actually running your business (instead of its website). Our Developer Access Pass provides a set number of hours of development work for your website. This can be used for one-time projects to update your website’s content, design, or functionality.
Examples of common website updates include:
- Uploading a blog post
- Adding a new portfolio / case study post
- Adding a new service / product page
- Building a new custom landing page
- Adding an events calendar
- Adding event registration
- Adding an “our team” section
- Adding a basic contact form
- Adding a newsletter sign-up form
- Adding an image gallery
- Uploading new brand elements throughout the site (logo, fonts, colors)
- Editing the website navigation menu
- Installing and configuring a new plugin
- Adding a basic knowledge base
- Adding e-commerce functionality
- Fixing basic CSS-related display breaks
- Debugging functional issues
- Optimize mobile/phone UX / display
Our Developer Access Pass provides a set number of hours of development work for your website. This can be used for one-time projects that will require more hours than are included in your current website optimization retainer, or for clients that are not signed up for development services.
Hours can be purchased at our current standard hourly development rate, with a minimum of 5 hours. Unused hours can be saved and used within a period of one year from the date of purchase. After one year, the hours will expire and no longer be available for use.
- After purchasing development hours, please submit as many details as possible about your project request, either to your account manager, or to siteupdates@marketeeringgroup.com.
- If you will be providing any content, media, and/or other information for the website updates, please also send these over, either to your account manager or to siteupdates@marketeeringgroup.com. Development work will typically not begin until we have received any needed content, or other required assets, for the request.
- Simple website edits typically have a turnaround time of three business days. If a project is more complex, and will take longer, a developer will provide a timeline for completion once we have all details of the request.
- If a project will take more time than is available with the purchased development hours, a developer will contact you with a quote for the additional work.
- If a project will require additional paid tools to complete, the developer will provide a list of tools needed and instructions for purchase.
- Depending on the complexity of the project, we may make the edits directly on the live website, or we may test and review the edits on a staging site first. If you have a preference for us to complete the edits on a staging site first, please request this at the beginning of the project.
- If you have any remaining development hours, after completion of the initial project, those hours can be used for additional requests for a period of one year from the initial purchase. Please submit any additional requests either to your account manager or to siteupdates@marketeeringgroup.com, and the above process will apply.
- The Developer Access Pass is only applicable for edits to websites built in the WordPress Content Management System. Any edits to websites built on other platforms must be pre-approved by a developer.
- This service covers edits to the website content, design and formatting. Functionality edits may also be covered, but must be approved by a developer.
- Some edits may require the purchase of additional third-party plugins, tools, or services. If this is the case, it is the client’s responsibility to purchase the needed tools, as well as any future required renewals. The developer will provide the client with a list of the tools and instructions for purchase. The client must then provide Marketeering Group with access to the third-party account, or any necessary files, embeds or licenses for the tool.
- If a project will require more than the available pre-purchased development hours, a developer will contact you with a quote for the additional work. We will not move forward with the additional work until the quote is approved.
- The Developer Access Pass does not include creative direction or consulting. This is available through our Website Optimization Retainer or our marketing strategy and consulting services.
- This service does not include the creation of content or media sourcing for the website. The client may provide any needed content, or Marketeering Group can assist with this through our content creation and/or media sourcing services. Development work will not begin until any necessary content is received, unless otherwise approved by a developer.
- If the website’s WordPress version, theme, and/or plugins are not currently up-to-date, we may need to perform a full update before completing the website edits. In this case, the time spent on the updates will count towards the available purchased development hours. If any paid tools do not have an active license, the client will need to provide or purchase a license for the tool(s) in order for us to perform the updates.
- In rare cases, the set-up of the website’s hosting environment may limit our ability to perform certain updates. If this is the case, we will provide you with an explanation of the issue and an alternate recommendation.
- We will typically need full WordPress admin access and full hosting account access in order to provide this service. If either of these is not available, our ability to edit the site will be limited, and any edit requests will need to be pre-approved by a developer.
- Any remaining development hours, after completion of the initial project, may be used for additional requests for a period of one year from the initial purchase. Additional requests should be submit either to your account manager or to siteupdates@marketeeringgroup.com. After one year, the hours will expire and will no longer be available for use.
