Project Management

  • Dedicated Project Manager for client communication
  • Comprehensive project coordination, to ensure cross-team project requirements and timelines are met
  • Up to three project review meetings:
    1. Kick-Off Meeting
    2. Theme Demo and Content Outline Review (optional)
    3. Website Draft Review
  1. The first step is a Website Kick-Off Meeting with your Marketeering Group website team. We’ll introduce ourselves, confirm our goals for the new site build, review the site build process, and answer any initial questions.
  2. After this meeting, we’ll choose between 2-4 website theme demos that we believe would work well for design direction for your new website and send them to you to review. This typically happens within one week of the kick-off meeting.
  3. During this time, we will also create a recommended content outline draft, which will also typically be sent to you for review during the first week.
  4. You’ll then have an option for a review meeting to discuss the theme options and/or content outline, if needed.
  5. Once the theme is chosen and the content outline is approved, the developer will then complete a first draft of the website and send it to you for review. This typically happens within 2 weeks after the mock-ups are approved, or 2 weeks after all content is received (if later).
  6. During the first draft build, our team will also start work on any content creation that we will be providing for the website. This work will typically be included for review in the first draft of the website build.
  7. At this time, media sourcing and optimization work will also begin. Our team performs photo and licensing research for images that match your criteria from our network and libraries. Oftentimes photo editing is needed to make sure every image communicates your brand story effectively. We also optimize all images for site speed. This work will be included for review in the first draft of the website build.
  8. Once the first draft is completed, a review meeting is then scheduled. During this meeting, we will go through the draft together, discuss any revision requests, and create a second draft to-do list. The client will have the option to provide additional feedback through our online review tool after the meeting.
  9. Once all feedback is received, the developer then completes the final draft of the website.
  10. Once the final draft is completed, our team runs a final round of quality assurance on the website, using our 40+ point site launch checklist.
  11. Our Content team will also edit and optimize your website before launch, using its back end to revise content for accuracy and for SEO, UX and readability best practices.
  12. Finally, our SEO team will complete a pre-launch review of the website, to make sure that it is structured to avoid any SEO issues and provide a good base from which to begin any future SEO services.
  13. The final draft, and all of these checks, will typically be completed within two weeks of receiving the first draft feedback.
  14. The final draft is then sent to the client for final approval to launch the site. If more revisions are needed at this point, the additional development work is charged at our regular hourly development rate.
  15. We then schedule the launch of the site on your chosen hosting platform. The launch will typically be scheduled within a few business days of final approval.

The total timeline is about 6 weeks, but could vary depending on various factors. Delays by the client in draft reviews, meeting scheduling, or providing any needed content or information during the process may increase the timeline.

Deliverables

The WordPress website build includes the deliverables listed under the “Scope of Work” section and follows the process and timeline outlined under the “Process” subsection.

The following items are not included in the basic website build, unless specified as additional add-on services under the “Scope of Work” section:

  • Branding: Creation of logos and choosing of brand fonts and/or colors are not included in the base website build. The client may provide their own brand guidelines and assets for our team to work with, or purchase branding services for assistance with these items.
  • Website Content: While we recommend working with our content writers for optimized website content, you may also choose to provide us with your own written content, based on the needs listed in the “Content Outline” deliverable. Written content is only provided if explicitly listed under the “Scope of Work” section.
  • Graphic Design: Custom graphics and media creation are not included in the base website build.
  • Custom Website Functionality: Website functionality encompasses any features where the website provides custom user interaction or technical / data automation beyond a static presentation of website content. Any functionality not explicitly listed under the “Scope of Work” is not included in the build.

Website Design

  • The client must provide all branded assets that are necessary for the project before work can begin. We will not begin work until all assets are accounted for, or until a decision is made to work around the missing asset (i.e. past logo files and assets, font files, etc.).
  • If the client will be providing font files, you are responsible for assuring that you have the proper copyright and permissions to use the fonts on your website. Marketeering Group is not responsible for any copyright claims made on client-provided fonts.

Content Optimization

  • Your website build content optimization services include the initial audit and outline, as well as the final edit.
  • This service does not itself guarantee improved search engine rankings. It is most effective paired with other services, such as SEO strategy and technical SEO.
  • We typically conduct final content optimization and editing directly on your new website. We do not change your content’s meaning or intent

Content Creation

  • We average 200 words per hour.
  • Content creation includes time for researching subject matter, keywords and more. This is part of smart content strategy.
  • We consider a piece of content complete when we’ve delivered an approved piece, regardless of whether you decide to have it on your new website.
  • Each piece of content has a limit of two revision rounds for nonmonthly clients. We bill additional editorial and revision rounds at our hourly rate.
  • We bill additional content pieces and rewrites at our hourly rate if you deem a complete piece unwanted for publication.

Media Sourcing & Optimization

  • If we will be using client provided images for the website, these must be provided before the design phase of the project begins.
  • If the client will be providing images, you are responsible for assuring that you have the proper copyright and permissions to use the images on your website. Marketeering Group is not responsible for any copyright claims made on client-provided images.
  • If we will be using stock photography for the website, we will choose the photos from a curated selection of online stock photography libraries that provide licensing for commercial web use.

SEO Reviews

  • Technical SEO is focused on compliance with Google best practices, but does not guarantee Google ranking improvement, or even that your Google rankings will remain the same after work is performed.
  • Technical SEO tasks are derived from typical industry-standard audits like SEMRush, Screaming Frog, AHREFs, and Google Search Console.

Website Development

  • You are responsible for procuring and maintaining your own domain registration and providing Marketeering Group with access to the domain settings.
  • You may choose your own hosting provider, or choose to purchase our “Hosting and Maintenance” service for an additional monthly cost. If you maintain your own hosting account, you must provide Marketeering Group with full hosting account access in order to launch the website. If you choose a hosting provider outside of our recommended list, there may be additional fees for the website launch.
  • Marketeering Group does not manage or host email. Should you decide to use our hosting (additional service), you agree that email management will be performed separately.
  • In order to perform any imports of blog posts or other content, as specified in the “Scope of Work”, Marketeering Group must be given full admin access to the source website for the content export.
  • We will not grant access to view the development site until the first draft is complete. You will not have access to the back end of the new site during development.
  • Marketeering Group is not responsible for any caching issues or settings conflicts of your personal or business devices that may affect your ability to accurately view or interact with the website.

Project Limitations

  • Once assets and deliverables are approved by the client during the site build process, they are considered final. Any future edits to those assets and deliverables will be considered out-of-scope of the initial project, and quoted as an additional cost, at the hourly development rate. (For example, changes to the website theme that are requested during the first draft review will be considered out of scope, since the theme is approved by the client before the first draft is started.)
  • Each round of review begins when the corresponding draft is presented to the client and ends when the client informs us that all revision requests have been submitted. All revision requests for that round must be received from the client before the next draft begins.
  • Additional revisions, to any deliverables, that are requested outside of the listed revision rounds under the scope of work will be charged at the corresponding hourly rate for that service.
  • It is the client’s responsibility to assure that the website is compliant with all applicable laws, rules and regulations for your industry, audience, and location. Marketeering Group will assist in making requested edits to the website to comply with such laws, as long as the requests are within scope of the project contract, but we do not guarantee any specific compliance as part of the website build.
